Institutional Interior Fit-Out

Fort McMurray,AB
Casman was brought in to transform an existing 1200sf computer lab space into an inclusive indigenous space and study lounge. The project included the install of a new second floor mezzanine to overlook the space while integrating a new kitchen, and elders office into the area below. In addition, the project featured an extensive and intricate resilient flooring cut into a variety of shapes and patterns with their own significance to the indigenous communities. Integrated into the flooring design was a motorized gathering circle for ceremonial smudges completed with a Star Story ceiling featuring specific artwork to share stories under.
The project was brought to life through the use of nature vinyl graphics and numerous birch wood millwork items giving it an bright, holistic feeling to the indigenous space for all who enter.
